Extensive design-led refurbishment and extensions to provide an elegant family home and home office.

This project comprises the refurbishment and extension of a 1960s era house sitting on a triangular, north facing plot with a small frontage and wide rear garden. The design solution was to engage with the geometry of the plot and garden with form and detail, and includes a single storey rear extension set at a 45º angle from the original house. Among the details new corner glazing to the main bedroom and bathroom also creates views onto the garden space from a new window seat, filling the room with natural light. Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors extend the full length of the extension blurring inside and outside spaces and giving full views and level access to the garden over a new paved terrace. An etched frameless glass canopy sits over a steel column arrangement that hints at the site’s geometry as you approach the house entrance.
